Jutta Gietl is a contemporary Oil painter, who lives in Reno, NV.

Born and raised in Germany, she immigrated to the USA in 1997 to further pursue her professional career. She holds a Masters Degree in Material Sciences and Engineering. She has worked all over the world . After she retired from the business world, she followed her passion.

Her deep connection with nature is the heartbeat of her artistic expression.

Her main source of inspiration is the constant exploration of her environment. She considers herself a woods and beach comber, who collects impressions while walking. She catches the feeling of the first moment, a glimpse, that takes in the comprehensive view. Back in her studio, she starts to create the story bundling and comprising the impressions into visual language.

Using abstract expressionism, she applies a fusion of contrasting elements - light versus dark, smoothness versus texture - juggling size scales in order to create balance between chaos and harmony.

Deeply imprinted in her canvas is a call to break out of algorithmic mind cages, invoking freedom to explore and inviting the viewer to immerse into her painting, giving space to stimulate individual imagination.

She is a member of the Sierra Arts Foundation, The Latimer Art Club, The Downtown Modernists and shows her work in multiple venues and exhibits every year.
